VT Style VT-7 Safety Chuck Boschert introduces its patented VT-7 replaceable insert design. The roll shaft journal is made of a round part with a square part. The round part accepts the load bearing foot print of the roll shaft. The square part transmits torque through the Safety Chuck to the roll shaft. The torque of the operation (the square part) is separated from the load bearing foot print of the roll shaft (the round part) preventing wear to the round part of the roll shaft journal. This is a highly efficient design in providing longer lasting concentricity. Where as other seat (pocket) shapes wear from torque during the operation, this design allows the concentricity between the Safety Chuck and the roll shaft to remain almost as precise as when new - throughout the life of the VT-7 replaceable insert. You could actually let your operation wear out the square part of the VT-7 seat without seriously affecting the concentricity between the roll shaft journal and the round part of the VT-7 insert!
